Everything sprung from a moment of frustration. Remi struggled to find a bow tie to his taste, so he decided to make one for himself; driven by a creative flair passed down through the family from his grandmother, a professional seamstress.

With their home fast becoming a permanent exhibition of bow ties,

his partner Clémence decided to create a blog to begin selling the pieces.

At the beginning of 2016, Colonel Moutarde made the journey across the channel to London, where Valentin, Clemence’s younger brother, set up shop in trendy Shoreditch.
And so, Colonel Moutarde was born, ready to take the world by storm with its inventive accessories.

Today, the Colonel is proud to have the largest collection of bow ties in France.

Going from strength to strength, the company now employs 20 people.
